A review of Juilene Osborne-McKnight’s Song of Ireland From Publisher’s Weekly

“Gentle peace-loving Finnabair, daughter of the ambitious warrior queen Medb of Connacht, makes a beguiling narrator in Osborne-McKnight's third engaging historical to recast Celtc myth....Warm, playful and eloquent, this is a welcome addition to the genre.”

From the Publisher:

Bright Sword of Ireland is the third in Juilene Osborne-McKnight's wonderful retelling of cherished Irish folktales. A dedicated researcher into the origins of Celtic myth and legend, Osborne-McKnight infuses her stories with passion, romance and magic.

An excerpt from Bright Sword of Ireland by Juilene Osborne-McKnight

The door between the worlds was open.

I do not know when they pushed the Hound through, but when I looked down he was stretched at my feet, on his face a look of deep repose. He turned his head toward me; no recognition was in his eyes. He did not rise. Fear moved through me, deep and cold. I leaned above him.

"Dog-Boy, it is Finnabair, your friend. I have come to take you home."

"Where is Fand?

"I do not know this one."

"Surely she came with me."

My stomach lurched. I looked around. She was standing directly behind me, silent as the stars.
